About Major Taylor Action Committee

Mission Statement and Statement of Purpose

The Major Taylor Action Committee (MTAC) is a group of people interested in cycling in Central Indiana and, specifically, garnering increased participation and benefits from the world-class facility at the Lake Sullivan Park complex Major Taylor Velodrome (MTV).

Through work and cooperation with organizations such as CIBA and INDY VELO, MTAC will promote participation and utilization of the MTV facility, assist INDY PARKS to keep its structural facility maintained at a world-class level, and provide premier racing opportunities.

Membership in MTAC is comprised of devoted and concerned cyclists and friends of cycling in the Indianapolis area. Due to the nature of the Lake Sullivan Park, the MTAC will also seek representation of constituents whose primary concerns are the Skatepark and BMX track. All three venues have much to offer Central Indiana, and it is MTAC’s mission to see that the full potential of each is realized.
